This review is coming a little late but that’s how you know this place was memorable :) Was visiting with my partner from Toronto and since we don’t have much in Toronto haven’t tried soul food, we decided to come here and the food was delicious :) The pulled pork and ribs were super tender. Collard greens were melt in your mouth, everything was amazing. And the two young men who were running the floor were super friendly and welcoming. Will be coming back every visit to buffalo for sure

The food here is the bomb.com!! Well worth the wait and the price! The greens are so soft and not gritty, the fried chicken is full of flavor, and there's so much pulled pork you could barely finish it all! And the Salisbury steak and mashed potatoes? Whew, you'd be wanting to go to bed when you're done! If I lived here in Niagara Falls, I would be 100% a regular. I will definitely be stopping here every time I visit Niagara Falls!

Fast food ain't good.Good food ain't fast.This hangs on the wall of the kitchen, visible from the dining area tables. I can end my review here, but, here's a few more of my thoughts about Simply Soul restaurant.Bring your hunger, but also your patience (I didn't), as your order is prepared with the time it takes to bring out such tastefully created dishes.I ordered the burnt ends starter, then smoked chicken with 2 sides, and a 3rd side for extra. The owner comes by and says, do a rib and smoked chicken combo with the 2 sides (collard greens and Mac n cheese) plus my 3rd side of dirty rice. He said it'll save me 7-8 bucksBeing used to "that's a more" for few drops of sauce in a tiny container at most places, for someone to walk to you and suggest this - I'm going back to the restaurant just for that!Let's go to the food.My intent to have burnt ends did happen, as the rib order came with 1 burnt end And my, how good was that! Ribs done so well that they were slipping off the bone and you could eat the cartilage and tendons. Great taste.While the taste buds kept my heart glued to the left side of the plate with the ribs, my right eye kept darting to the right side of the plate, with the tantalizing smoked chicken smothered in barbecue sauce (request the extra sauce and you're welcome, ask for more). The knife and fork took a small chunk of the chicken with some skin, and all the sauce that could fit - it was the equivalent of heaven in a single bite.It took a lot from me to move away from the ribs and chicken to the sides - I started with mac n cheese - cheese crisped up under the soft shells. Perfect amount of cheese and salt. Simple and yet, so powerful!Collard Greens - whatever they added to the broth, it made the taste so good that for just 1 second, I thought I should go back to being a vegetarian and just order a plate of collard greens!And finally to "dirty rice"- what a misnomer to name this great concoction of rice and everything in it as dirty rice? I'd call it "beautiful rice".Corn bread - I never eat it without butter, but this one was still hot and I ate a morsel and forgot the need for butter.I can go on and on. The food overall is 20 stars out of 5.Service was quick, they check on you, but leave you be - as they know you're busy.I ended up packing about 40% of my order. Plus as take out, I ordered 2 of the peach dumplings and a sweet potato pie.Been about 36 hrs and I'm already craving for the amazing food that I was fortunate to taste and importantly, meet the lovely people running Simply Soul.As for myself, I'll drive from Toronto GTA, back to this restaurant to try the remaining items on the menu, one visit at a time.Do yourself a favor and go try their food, I mean, the food with soul that you get served!

They mostly do take out orders, but they had plenty of seating inside. I had the catfish, grits and added collard greens. Everything... EVERYTHING was delicious!!! The catfish was moist, flaky and perfectly breaded. The greens had a wonderful smoky flavor. Nothing was oversalted. I am a stuffed and happy customer. Highly recommended and I will be returning when I'm at Niagara again.

If you’re anywhere near Niagara Falls and craving comfort food that touches your soul, Simply Soul is an absolute must-visit. The food was greater than amazing—every bite was flavorful, perfectly seasoned, and clearly made with love. From the first taste to the last, it felt like a home-cooked meal elevated to a whole new level.What made the experience even better was the customer service. The staff were warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive. They made us feel like family from the moment we walked in. It’s rare to find a place where both the food and the service exceed expectations, but Simply Soul delivers on all fronts.My family and I are from South Carolina and I Can’t wait to go back!

Came from PA to the Niagara and needed a good spot to eat at when we arrived. I knew it was a good spot when I seen them grill out front! And I was right! Such love poured out of the food one bite at a time. They have the most fitting quote that makes anyone understand.. Fast food ain’t good and GOOD food ain’t fast. Remember that! 10 out of 10/ highly recommend! If youre looking for goooood, southern soulful food, great place to eat!! Stopped in Easter Sunday for an early dinner, I loved the atmosphere, friendly service and smooth r&b music played. Certainly set the tone, the food was amazing & well seasoned. Yams melted in my mouth. The name truly says it all! Great dining experience

This place should be packed to the walls 24/7. We were in Niagara for the weekend and got lunch on Saturday. We tried the fried chicken and smothered pork chop with mashed potatoes, creamed corn, collard greens, and Mac and cheese. The meal came with cornbread too which was slightly sweet and a great texture.We loved the food so much we had to go back the next day to try out some other offerings.The catfish nuggets are a MUST.Out of everything we had what we would rave about would be catfish nuggets, fried chicken, smothered pork steak, baked beans, Mac and cheese, and the yams.We unfortunately didn’t have room for dessert. I’m so thankful we don’t live in Niagara cus we’d eat there daily.You can tell the young men working at the restaurant are putting their hearts and souls into this restaurant and they deserve to have this place take off! The portions are huge and so reasonably priced.My only advice would be if you’re squeezing this place in while on vacation, maybe call ahead and place your order so you don’t have to wait as long for the home cooking. They really cook everything made to order. Seriously tho this place is a hidden gem and I’m coming back just for the food
